Sharm El Sheikh
St. Catherine
Located at the foot of Mount Moses, it was built in the 6th century AD on what is thought to be Moses’s Burning Bush. It has been called the oldest working Christian monastery and the smallest diocese in the world. St. Catherine’s is also a formidable fortification, with granite walls measuring 8 to 35 meters tall, surrounded by gardens and cypresse.
Just a few kilometers south of Nuweiba at the very top of the Gulf of Aqaba and just a few hundred meters from the coast. A Crusader fortress originally built by Baldwin I, the king of Jerusalem. From the top of the fortress, one can see four countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel
Pharaoh’s Island
Color Canyon
The Color Canyon is located about 12 km north of Nuweiba two hours from Sharm El Sheikh The canyon itself is a water-eroded, narrow and twisting path formed over thousands of years into the rocks, surrounded by spectacular 60 meter cliffs, beautiful sculptured walls and cliffs made of sandstone with layers of amazing colors such as pink, purple, silver and gold
At about 15 km from Nuweiba you can find Castle Zaman. At true architectural achievement, its construction revived ancient techniques of building stone vaults and cross vaults. Every single stone in its construction was handpicked from nearby mountains, and neither metal nor concrete were used in the construction process.

Petra
Rose Macaulay wrote in Pleasure of Ruins: “If ever a dead city held romance it is Petra… Hewn out of ruddy rock in the midst of a mountain wilderness, sumptuous in ornament and savage in environs, poised in wildness like a great carved opal glowing in a desert, this lost caravan city staggers the most experienced traveler.“ The ancient city of was built in the 3rd century BC by the Nabataeans, who carved palaces, temples, tombs, storerooms and stables from the soft stone cliffs. Today it is a World Heritage Site that needs little introduction; suffice to say, no visit to Jordan is complete without at least two days spent exploring the remarkable Ancient City
Aqaba, Jordan’s only seaport, lies on the Gulf of Aqaba, a branch of the Red Sea shared with Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Aqaba has historic significance during the Arab Revolt when T.E. Lawrence crossed the desert with Arab forces to capture Aqaba Castle from the Ottoman Turks in 1917. Like the surrounding areas, the clear water and colourful reefs of the Red Sea near Aqaba provides excellent diving.
